Conejos Diversions: Richfield to ConConCo

In keeping with the Conejos Whole River strategy, the Richfield, Salazar, and Valdez diversions were all automated which has helped to improve gauge measurements at the confluence (ConConCo). When there are low flows, it becomes increasingly difficult to get accurate readings, and this is when they are most critical. A low-flow conveyance structure was created to more accurately gauge flows, which enables the district to more accurately measure waterflow and ensure Compact obligations are met. This also helps to maintain stream connectivity and better stream health.
